Important: Three Rivers for the Shaded Fuel Brake Project Schedule

Three Rivers RC&D is asking for anyone interested in having their property added to the Shaded Fuel Break project contact Gordon Gillman before Tuesday, January 19,2009. Mr. Gillman may be reached by e-mail at ggillman@mvsd21.org . Phone 208-317-2647.

From LRPOA President, Ed Allred:
We will be adjusting the schedule and providing updates as the project progresses.
For the safety of the workers and association members, stay clear of the work areas as much as
possible. Watch for trucks and equipment. The roads are steep and will be slick. Heavy trucks will be hauling logs out and may not be able to stop when traveling downhill. Wherever feasible go around work areas. Remember that the men and women working on this project have families to go home too also! No one should place their lives at risk to save a few minutes or satisfy their own curiosity.

START- UP -
Wilcox Logging would like to move equipment into the area tomorrow and start the project this Thursday, December 10th but would not start moving the logs until a week later so no logging trucks will be operating until the following Thursday, December 17th.  He will have signs on the roads and at the work site.
FIRST LOCATION/FIRST PHASE – The project will begin on High Pine Road so the actively will be on Big Bear Road and High Pine Road.  The landing pad for this first phase will be on private property – Leonard Ware (Lot #142).  If there is a need to create a road for the landing pad it will be on Leonard Ware’s land and all of the spoil will remain on Leonard Ware’s land.
SECOND LOCATION/SECOND PHASE The next phase of the project will be along High Country Road.  Gordon Gillman will provide more information on this phase when he meets with Gary Wilcox including the potential landing pad on Martin Road.  He will arrange a time where you or a representative from Lava Ranch Mountain Properties can meet with Gary Wilcox to determine the best location for the landing and any spoil material.
